Supernovas Best Disaster in Pitching Duel
|
Nuclear Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Port Royal Disaster and Scranton Supernovas.
The Supernovas had to overcome a fine performance from Port Royal pitcher Dean Cross to grab a 2-1 win at Nuclear Stadium. Cross allowed 1 earned run over 7 innings. NaNomi Lojore was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 1 run on 8 hits, with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, José Bravo was at the plate when Scranton scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Supernovas to go in front, 2-1.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Bravo said.
Scranton is now 20-27.
