Loss to Humpbacks Extends Santa Barbara Losing Streak
|
Alaskan starter Glenn Suggett had a strong outing against the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes at Crane Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 7-3 win. The 8th-place Golden Cranes have lost 11 straight games.
Alaskan used the timely hitting of Wally Briggs to capture the win. The third baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Humpbacks ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"We'll savor this win," Briggs told the Alaskan Gazette, "then get ready for the next game."
