Wenzu Helps Rocks Run Win Streak to 5
|
The Bloomington Longnecks and Plymouth Rocks were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Lookouts Ballpark.
The Plymouth Rocks defeated the Bloomington Longnecks, 8-1, at Lookouts Ballpark today. Leading the charge for Plymouth was right fielder Tumas Wenzu. He went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The 7th-place Rocks now have a 5-game winning streak.
The Rocks benefited from a costly error in the top of the sixth. With Tabor de Maria at bat and Plymouth leading 2-1, the Bloomington miscue allowed Plymouth to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-1.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," de Maria told the Plymouth Citizen.
