The Lynx faced a stiff challenge from Port Royal pitcher Carlos Medina, but persevered to claim a win at Ballpark of Port Royal. The final score was 5-2. Medina went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The win was credited to Quan Shiu in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Jorge Travieso took the loss. António Marés closed it out for his 2nd save.
Calgary used the timely hitting of Gabriel Torres to capture the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Lynx on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Torres told the Calgary Gazette.
Calgary's record now stands at 17-16, placing them 6th in the Premier AAA.
