Disaster Continue Skid Thanks to Valéncia, Lynx
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from José Valéncia, the Calgary Lynx defeated the Port Royal Disaster, 6-4. Valéncia went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Lynx. Calgary reliever Ainanani Oliwa picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Jorge Travieso was saddled with the loss. Picking up the save was António Marés, his 1st.
Calgary took a 6-4 lead on Valéncia's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Jorge Travieso in the top of the eighth, propelled Calgary to the win.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Valéncia.
Calgary has a 5-game win streak, while Port Royal has lost 4 in a row.
