Nahasapeemapetilon Hits 2 home runs in Belugas Win
|
Brinkley and Scranton met at Nuclear Stadium in front of a lively crowd.
The Brinkley Belugas trumped the Scranton Supernovas, 5-0, at Nuclear Stadium. Brinkley designated hitter Apu Nahasapeemapetilon was named player of the game for his performance. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Lawrence Lane picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work. He allowed no earned runs on 2 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 2-1.
Brinkley used the clutch hitting of Jouo Hirschovits to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to give the Belugas the lead, 3-0. For the game, Hirschovits had 3 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Nahasapeemapetilon, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
Brinkley improves to 10-7 as they look to defend their championship.
