Longnecks Fall Short, 5-4, at Santa Barbara

With center fielder Xu Cheng leading the charge, the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes defeated the Bloomington Longnecks, 5-4, at Crane Field. Cheng was 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Santiago López earned the win to go to 2-2. He allowed 2 earned runs on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 1 strikeout. Adam Garrison earned the save for Santa Barbara, his 3rd of the year.
Esteban León, who is tied for 9th in the PAAA with a .975 OPS, contributed to the Santa Barbara win with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Cheng said after the game.
Bloomington, at 3-12, has had a dismal start to the season.
