Fighting Imps Roll to 11-2 Win Over Polar Bears
|
Ithaca Fighting Imps starter Maximiano Mealha kept the Billings Polar Bears hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 11-2 win. Mealha went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 8-8. The save was credited to Randy Nixon, his 1st.
Nelson Rivera's at-bat in the top of the sixth inning was a big one for Ithaca. Coming to bat with no one out, a runner on 2nd and Ithaca trailing 1-0, the center fielder reached on an error by the C, driving in 1 run.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Mealha.
Billings's current losing streak is now 4 games.
