The Ottawa Nationals and Ithaca Fighting Imps lit up the scoreboard at Imps Park.

The Ottawa Nationals beat the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 12-8, at Imps Park. Ottawa designated hitter Cary Collins earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Ottawa reliever Nelson Martínez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Dave McAlear was saddled with the loss.

Collins came through with some timely hitting for Ottawa. With the score 3-3 in the top of the fifth and one down, Collins hit a 2-2 fastball for a 2-run double. His 26th double of the season made it 5-3, Ottawa.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Ottawa skipper Fernando Gonzáles.

Ottawa's record now stands at 40-51, placing them 10th in the Menard's AA.
