Rails Walk Off with Win
|
The San Antonio BC got a superb performance from pitcher Harvey Wyles. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Richland. The Rails won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, Wyles was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball. Chris Holmes picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-2. Ben Lieske was tagged with the loss. At 46-42, the Rails are currently 5th in the Menard's AA.
Glenn Lockhart, who is tied for 4th in the 3AA in home runs with 19, came through for Richland with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the tenth. The left fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 2 RBI.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Richland skipper Greg Keys.
