Gary Goodwin drew 1 walk for Ottawa. The 24-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Markus Martin. It was his 34th RBI of the season.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Akron manager Emílio Sáenz. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
