Rails Come Back Late to Clip Highlanders
The Richland Rails and Asheville Highlanders put on a pitchers' duel at Asheville Park.

The Richland Rails defeated the Asheville Highlanders, 1-0, in M3L Double A action at Asheville Park, with Richland pitcher Guillermo Guerrero named player of the game. Richland reliever Albert Hernández got the win, raising his record to 3-0. Fred Townsend was tagged with the loss.

Richland used the timely hitting of Falco Opsteegh to capture the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rails on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Opsteegh.

The 6th-place Rails raised their record to 44-40.
