Fighting Imps Topple Highlanders with Late Rally
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Jimmy Robinson, the Ithaca Fighting Imps defeated the Asheville Highlanders, 5-3. Robinson was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Fighting Imps. Jeffery Brock was credited with the save for Ithaca, his 19th of the season. Ithaca is third in the Menard's AA with a record of 41-33.
Ithaca used the timely hitting of Graeme Dormer to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Fighting Imps on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Robinson said.
