Akron left fielder Surender Nada was sensational. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Asheville beat the Blimps, 8-6. Nada was named the player of the game despite the loss. With the win over Akron, the Highlanders improved to 37-33.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, first baseman José Ocasio came through big-time for the Highlanders. With Asheville trailing 5-2, he belted a 3-run home run.

"Feels good to get the job done," Ocasio said after the game.
