Polar Bears Turn Back Bethesda, 3-2
|
The Billings Polar Bears topped the Bethesda Atoms, 3-2, in M3L Double A action at Atoms Field. The player of the game was Billings pitcher Arturo Santiago. Garrett Durham, credited with the save, is now 4 for 4 in save opportunities. The Polar Bears move to 29-35 with the win, while the Atoms drop to 36-28.
Billings used the timely hitting of Stock Tonports to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Polar Bears ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Bethesda manager Raúl Méndez. "But we decided not to take it."
