Rapiers Ballpark was the site for M3L Double A action featuring the Durham Rapiers and Akron Blimps.

The Akron Blimps got a stellar performance from pitcher Juan Vias, who handcuffed the Durham offense en route to a 10-2 win at Rapiers Ballpark. Vias, now 5-0, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 5, and allowing 2 earned runs.

It could have been a different outcome for Akron, had it not been for Dale Epner, the 26-year old third baseman . Epner contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Akron up, 2-1.

"We'll savor this win," Epner told the Akron Bulletin, "then get ready for the next game."

Akron is now 39-22, 4 games up in the Menard's AA.
