|
The Ithaca Fighting Imps topped the Olympia Ogres, 6-4, in M3L Double A action at The Ogre Den. The player of the game was Ithaca pitcher Chris Hughes. Hughes went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 5-4. With the victory, the Fighting Imps record now stands at 34-26.
Ithaca used the timely hitting of Nelson Rivera to capture the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Fighting Imps on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Hughes.
