Ithaca third baseman Pedro Reyes made his presence felt in the 9-7 Fighting Imps triumph over the Asheville Highlanders. Reyes went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Ithaca reliever Doug Schmidt got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Gong Chin was tagged with the loss. The Fighting Imps go to 32-25, putting them 4th in the Menard's AA.

Donald McJannett had a key at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fifth for Ithaca. With the bases loaded and the Fighting Imps leading 7-6, he hit a sacrifice fly.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Reyes told the Ithaca Chronicle.
