Rails Beat Miners in 10
|
Behind a solid performance from left fielder Falco Opsteegh, the Richland Rails defeated the Marquette Miners, 4-3. Opsteegh went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI for the Rails. The 5th-place Rails have won 4 in a row.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With one out, Opsteegh hit a fastball from Jorge Vega for a run-scoring single. The Rails, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Opsteegh.
