Fighting Imps Reel Off Another Win
|
The Ithaca Fighting Imps stymied the San Antonio BC, 5-2, at San Antonio Field. Ewan Manshert, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Ithaca. Ithaca starter Dave McAlear was credited with the win after throwing 73 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 7-1. Jeffery Brock closed the game out for Ithaca, earning his 11th save.
Ithaca used the timely hitting of Bill Gracián to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Fighting Imps on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
