The Billings Polar Bears defeated the Marquette Miners, 3-1, in M3L Double A action at Marquette Stadium, with Billings pitcher Arturo Santiago named player of the game. Santiago went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 4, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-3. Garrett Durham got credit for the save for Billings. It was his 2nd of the year.

In the top of the first, Lawrence Perry pounced on a fastball from Johnny Eliot and hit a run-scoring double. It gave Billings a quick 1-0 lead.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Billings manager Enrique Marroquín. "It's usually not just one thing."

The Polar Bears move to 18-26 with the win, while the Miners drop to 23-21.
