Highlanders Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
The Asheville Highlanders defeated the Billings Polar Bears, 7-3, in M3L Double A action at The Igloo, with Asheville pitcher Robert Snoddy named player of the game. Snoddy, now 4-1, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 2 earned runs. The save went to Jonathan Lentz, his 6th this season.
One the game's most dramatic moments benefited Asheville. In the bottom of the third, Hai-liang Yi took a 1-2 curveball and hit a 2-run single, putting Billings up, 5-2. The lead, though, would not hold up.
The second-place Highlanders improved to 26-13.
