Bethesda and Marquette duked it out at Marquette Stadium and the Atoms came out victorious.

Bethesda starter Cristóbal Román pitched effectively against the Marquette Miners at Marquette Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a 5-2 win. Román picked up the win for Bethesda, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1.

Bethesda needed the clutch hitting of Conor Culver to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Atoms on top, 5-2. For the game, Culver had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Román said.
