Xú Leads Charge, San Antonio Blasts Ogres
|
Jiao-long Xú was instrumental in his team's 13-3 triumph over the Olympia Ogres. The second baseman went 4 for 5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4 for the San Antonio BC. Patrick Ibáñez earned the win for San Antonio. He lasted 7 innings, allowing no earned runs on 5 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 2-1. The losses continue to pile up for Olympia, which has now fallen 11 times in a row.
San Antonio used the bat of William Luna to capture the win. The left fielder jacked a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the BC ahead, 6-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said San Antonio skipper John Wright.
