Mark Erwin never let the Ogres get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Blimps to a 5-1 win. The hot start continues for the defending champion Blimps, who took their 11th win in 16 games this year.

Akron relied on the hitting of Surender Nada to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Blimps on top, 2-0. For the game, Nada had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I like our mindset right now," said Akron manager Emílio Sáenz.
