Rapiers Fall Short, 3-2, at Akron
|
It was a good time at Goodyear Hanger Dome, where fans came to watch the Durham Rapiers and Akron Blimps get after it.
Akron Blimps starter Ignacio Uribe turned in an exceptional performance against the Durham Rapiers at Goodyear Hanger Dome, resulting in a Akron win, 3-2. Uribe picked up the win for Akron, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Hans Rager earned the save for Akron, his 4th of the year.
Dale Epner came through for Akron in the bottom of the second. With one out, Epner victimized Andy Fallon with a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put Akron on top, 3-0.
In postgame comments to the Akron Bulletin, Uribe said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
With the win, Akron boosts its record to 5-4.
