Victory Pushes Cattlemen Record to 61-42
|
Ft. Worth Cattlemen starter Eddie Kop pitched a strong game against the Kingston Township Knights at The Cattle Pen, leading the Cattlemen to a 5-3 win. The win was credited to Bryan Tuff in relief. His record improves to 6-1. Shackleford Stanwick took the loss. Ft. Worth now sits at 61-42, while Kingston Township falls to 35-68.
Had Ramón Rodríguez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Rodríguez hit a 2-run double. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Cattlemen.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Kop.
