Knights Win at Brooklyn, 6-1
|
The Kingston Township Knights picked up a win at Ebbetts Field, knocking off the Brooklyn Dodgers, 6-1. Starting pitcher Francisco Díaz, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Díaz got the win, improving to 2-7. He allowed 8 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. Díaz allowed 1 earned run. Kingston Township is now 33-63, while Brooklyn is 46-50.
Kingston Township used the timely hitting of Júlio Robles to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Knights on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Robles.
