Williams Excels, But Cattlemen Win
|
Panama City got a terrific game from center fielder Bruno Williams. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Ft. Worth, 7-6. Williams was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Jack Buyse picked up the save, his 14th. Ft. Worth is now 54-39, while Panama City is 54-39.
The outcome might have been different for Ft. Worth, had it not been for Craig Woods, the 2036 Newcomer of the Year Award winner . Woods stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Ft. Worth up, 4-3. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Woods told the Ft. Worth Chronicle.
