Browns Sneak Past Piranhas, 3-2
|
Fans who gathered at The Tank saw a good contest between the Cleveland Browns and Panama City Piranhas.
Despite a great performance by Panama City right fielder Murray Sperber, the Cleveland Browns defeated the Piranhas by the score of 3-2 at The Tank. Sperber was 4 for 6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Reliever Bob Christison picked up the win. His record improves to 2-4. Tobías Pérez took the loss.
This game went down to the wire. In the top of the 12th, Henry Madore had a big at-bat. With one out, the Cleveland third baseman hit a sacrifice fly, to put his team up, 3-2.
"Good win for us, tough loss for them," said Madore.
With the win, Cleveland goes to 28-56, while the Piranhas fall to 49-35.
