Vargas Helps Athletic Club KC Run Win Streak to 4
|
Behind a solid performance from right fielder Jesús Vargas, the Athletic Club KC defeated the Kingston Township Knights, 7-1. Vargas went 3-5 with a home run, a triple, and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Athletic Club KC. Athletic Club KC starter Mike Truk was credited with the win after throwing 75 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 7-3. The 6th-place Athletic Club KC have won 4 straight.
In the top of the first, Vargas pounced on a 2-2 slider from Edmund Blackadder and hit a 2-run home run. It put Athletic Club KC on top, 2-0.
