Panama City right-hander Quentin Bowers made an effective start against the Kingston Township Knights at The Tank, leading his team to a 5-3 win. In 7.1 innings, Bowers surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. He allowed 3 runs. Joe Khokar earned the save, his 23rd, for the Piranhas.
Petri Kallio had a big 2-run single for the Piranhas in the bottom of the third inning. With Panama City leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a changeup from Pete Rhue and stroked the single to center. It was his 82nd hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Piranhas ahead, 3-0.
"It's a mindset," said Bowers. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
The losing streak for Kingston Township has now reached 4 games.
