Rocketeers Need Extra Frames to Get Past Stingers
|
The Rocketeers had to overcome a fine performance from Toledo pitcher Tupac Blanch to grab a 8-2 win at Pacesetter Park. Blanch allowed 2 earned runs over 7 innings. Seattle reliever Júlio Enríquez picked up the win to move to 1-1. Austin Aries suffered the loss. The Rocketeers move to 37-27 with the win, while the Stingers drop to 30-34.
Seattle used the timely hitting of José Jarca to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Rocketeers ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Jarca.
