Stingers Curb Cattlemen, 5-1
|
Toledo starter Melvin Tiburcio put a stranglehold on the Ft. Worth offense. The right-hander had complete command of his curveball in leading the Stingers to a 5-1 win. Marcos Oquendo picked up the save, his 5th. The Stingers improve their record to 18-27 with the win over Ft. Worth.
Toledo took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and the bases empty, Nathan Tanner stroked a solo home run to make it 2-1, Stingers.
"I thought we played a nice game," Tanner told the Toledo Observer. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
