Disaster Rally For Late Win Over Lynx
|
The Port Royal Disaster topped the Calgary Lynx by the score of 5-4, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Ricky Payton. Payton went 2-3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 times for the Disaster. Port Royal reliever Chet Saks picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Quan Shiu absorbed the loss. The loss drops Calgary to 4-7.
Port Royal took a 5-4 lead on Payton's 13th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which he hit off Quan Shiu in the top of the eighth, propelled Port Royal to the win.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Payton.
