Starting pitcher Ralph Greer pitched well enough to help the Brinkley Belugas beat the Alaskan Humpbacks by the score of 6-4. Greer, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. Ewan Atwood finished to wrap up his 1st save.

Brinkley relied on the hitting of Luis García to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Belugas on top, 6-1. For the game, García had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
