Lynx Come Up Short at Texas
|
The Texas Bronze Sox and Calgary Lynx obliged those fans who came to Bronze Sox Park hoping for an exciting game.
Calgary center fielder José Valéncia had a good game, even if his team did not. The Lynx dropped a 7-6 decision to Texas at Bronze Sox Park. Valéncia was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Carl MacPherson picked up the win with 7.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 8 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 9. On the season, he is now 1-0. Earning his 2nd save for Texas was Kliment Spirk.
Riley Walker helped his team take an early lead with a bases-clearing triple. It came in the first inning, making the score 4-0, Bronze Sox.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Bronze Sox manager Juan López. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
The Bronze Sox are off to a nightmare start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 2nd win in 7 games.
