Gill Excels, But Halberds Win
Augusta left fielder Ken Gill had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Gill was 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once, even as Alloway beat the Timber Hawks, 6-4. Gill was named the player of the game despite the loss. Alloway is now 54-47, while Augusta is 55-46.

It could have been a different outcome for Alloway, had it not been for Gidde Collin, the 28-year old catcher . Collin contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the second inning to put Alloway up, 2-0.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Collin said after the game.
