The Augusta Timber Hawks topped the Alloway Halberds, 3-2, in USSL Triple A action at Ballpark of Alloway. The player of the game was Augusta pitcher Alfredo Córdova. In 6.2 innings, Córdova surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Jeffery Meyers, credited with the save, is now 14 for 14 in save opportunities.

Mike Goff, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with two out in the top of the sixth. That's when he connected on a fastball from Bob Browning for a solo home run. His 4th home run of the season put Augusta in front, 3-2.

In comments to the Augusta Herald, Goff insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
