The Alloway Halberds did just enough to sneak past the Jersey City Tritons, 8-7, at Jersey City Grounds. Alloway left fielder Brenton Winston earned player of the game honors. Francisco García closed the game out for Alloway, earning his 8th save. The Halberds now have a record of 39-30.

Alloway used the timely hitting of Manny Gonzáles to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put the Halberds on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Alloway skipper Manuel Hernández.
