The Alloway Halberds picked up a win at Jersey City Grounds, knocking off the Jersey City Tritons, 5-0. Starting pitcher Rich McLean, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. McLean went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 2. His record improves to 5-2. The Halberds move to 38-30 with the win, while the Tritons drop to 38-30.

Alloway used the bat of Gidde Collin to capture the win. The catcher jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Halberds ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," McLean said.
