The Augusta Timber Hawks did just enough to secure a 2-1 victory over the Alloway Halberds at Timber Hawks Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Christiaan Volkers, who captured player of the game honors. The winning pitcher was Volkers, now 2-0. He tossed 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 4. Jeffery Meyers, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.

The Timber Hawks grabbed the lead in the bottom of the second. With one out, Mike Goff hit a 2-run home run off Gerald Plomp, putting Augusta in front, 2-1. For Goff, it was his 1st home run of the season.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Augusta manager José Santos.

The Timber Hawks have an impressive 25-14 record.
