Hotspur Reserves Come Up Short at Memphis
|
Phoenix center fielder Ilkka Haapajarvi had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Haapajarvi was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs, even as Memphis beat the Hotspur Reserves, 4-3. Haapajarvi was named the player of the game despite the loss. I-tsing Ts'ong was credited with the save for Memphis, his 7th of the season. The 5th-place Redbirds lifted their record to 20-19.
Brian Rowe hit a run-scoring double off Coy Mitoglou in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Redbirds in front, 4-3. In addition to the double, Rowe had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Rowe told the Memphis Today.
