Sunset District starter Pedro Rodríguez had a strong outing against the Alloway Halberds at Ballpark of Alloway. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. Sunset District reliever Abraham van der Meulen picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Masaharu Sakata was saddled with the loss. Sunset District is now 16-18, while Alloway is 20-14.
Sunset District took a 4-2 lead on Cecil Nelson's 6th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Nelson hit in the top of the ninth, left Alloway pitcher Masaharu Sakata visibly frustrated.
"It was our day today," Nelson told the Sunset District Herald. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
