Bill Poole had a good game, but he could not keep the Phoenix Hotspur Reserves from falling, 7-3, to the Alloway Halberds at Thunderbirds Stadium. The Phoenix catcher was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice in the loss. Rich McLean was the winning pitcher. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 1 run on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. The Halberds move to 19-13 with the win, while the Hotspur Reserves drop to 11-21.

It could have been a different outcome for Alloway, had it not been for Juan Jimínez, the 29-year old left fielder . Jimínez contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth inning to put Alloway up, 4-1.
