Men Pick Up 4-1 Win
|
The Florida Men took Sunset District pitcher Akinori Yamauchi's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Fog Park. The final score had Florida getting past the Fog, 4-1. Yamauchi went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 4. Florida reliever James Davis was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Akinori Yamauchi took the loss for Sunset District. The Men now have a mark of 9-16.
Florida used the timely hitting of Ronald Anderson to capture the win. The center fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Men ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Anderson said.
