Lake Monsters Squelch Halberds Offense in Shutout Win
|
Vermont rode a good effort from starter Kee Bao to beat the Alloway Halberds at Monster Field. The final score was 3-0. Bao went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-0. René Fontaine finished to wrap up his 3rd save.
In the bottom of the sixth, Vermont left fielder An-te-hai Qing had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 3rd and two out, Qing stroked a run-scoring double to left. It made the score 2-0, Vermont. For the game, he went 2-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
"Kee did a tremendous job," said Vermont manager José Zamora.
With the win, Vermont goes to 6-8.
