Lake Monsters Lose, 3-2, at Timber Hawks Ballpark
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 29-year old first baseman Pat Lloyd, the Augusta Timber Hawks stopped the Vermont Lake Monsters, 3-2. Augusta reliever Christiaan Volkers picked up the win to move to 1-0. Mannus Dijkman suffered the loss. The Lake Monsters fall to 4-8 and continue their uneasy start to the 2037 season.

Had Lloyd not come through in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Lloyd hit a run-scoring single. The Timber Hawks never looked back after taking the 3-2 lead.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Lloyd. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
