Hotspur Reserves Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
Alloway designated hitter Mike Clifton had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Clifton went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2, even as Phoenix beat the Halberds, 6-4. Clifton was named the player of the game despite the loss. The win was credited to José Santiago in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Martin Besnier took the loss. With the win, Phoenix pushes its record to 4-6.

Phoenix used the bat of Jason DeGeorge to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Hotspur Reserves ahead, 6-4. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Phoenix manager Tommy Wade.
