Alloway Wins 8-6 to Continue Red Hot Start
|
The Alloway Halberds defeated the Florida Men, 8-6. Earning player of the game honors was catcher Matt Herman, who went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Alloway, now 7-2, is setting the league on fire so far.
Alloway relied on the hitting of Manny Gonzáles to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Halberds on top, 7-6. For the game, Gonzáles had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Gonzáles.
